It's the last day of school and the school holidays are here!

Pros:
No need to wake up at 6 to tie hair.
No need to iron uniforms
No need to learn spelling or ting xie
Life is what you make of it.
Can go gaigai and explore parks and our neighborhood.

Cons:
Children are at home 24/7
Must cook meals
Must bring them out in tow
No down time.

I shall overschedule and make sure they have something to do everyday so that they can CRASH at night.

Perfect blue sunny sky to welcome the holiday!!

waiting for No2 to finish her playground time and I'm sitting opposite a girl and her helper. The girl is swiping on her hand phone and not interested in her food at all.

I thought the helper was going to feed her because the helper was holding the flask 😱 but no, it's not that bad. She only scoops the food nicely on the spoon and all the girl needs to do is move spoon to mouth.

I was thinking… THIS IS MY LIFE AT HOME…

morning entertainment

Finding puzzles.

This is a very nice series which has color and stickers for spot the hidden pictures. They have 4 books in this series and there are short stories inside as well.

The older ones are green with envy because they find it very attractive but I told them that this is "didi's homework" and they cannot do it. 😂

They have a bilingual puzzle book for older children but that is all black and white and harder to spot.

3sgd per book, I bought in Tesco Malaysia!

After spending 1 hour 😴😴😴 on the book I finally decided to give myself a break by letting him watch some chinese YouTube videos.

This is really basic but I love Sesame Street and it sorta helps him learn words so can pass. Also only 9 minutes plus so you can watch less episodes…

There's also 巧虎 but the joker doesn't like it because it's not so interesting.

this is another favorite! Some "science" haha can you tell I'm trying to over justify my laziness.

The Husband is working late tonight and I had to solo parent them from 8pm onwards cos my MIL had to leave. So thankful that she stayed and cooked dinner and helped me wash up; all I had to do was mop the floor and get them settled for bed.

The children were extra sweet today and didn't fight. YOU KNOW ITS A MIRACLE WHEN NO VOICES ARE RAISED! 🙏🙏

Their tower rocket dunno what.

But yes, I am very thankful that they had a long day and can sleep quickly.

Time check 1046pm

The 2 older ones who need to sleep the most are still awake cos they're SCARED.

Eyes rolling until i can see my brains. There's a night light, 3 people in the room (Didi is extra protection) and still can't sleep.

Now I'm sitting here in the dark spoiling my eyes.

Sigh.

Morning went to Bukit timah nature reserve to walk.

Replenished all the calories (and more) eating you tiao. This is the only store selling these delicious fried foods and the queue is long. Not because it's fantastic and heavenly, but because they only cook their youtiao to order.

Hahaha saw this on my Facebook feed and I laughed to myself.

I wonder if #taobao buyers agree?
But everything is made in china now hee

sisters in learning and sisters at heart

Took 132 to revisit my youth.

I FELT ANCIENT…there were all giggly girls and gawky guys. Gosh it felt just like yesterday that I was taking the bus to school fighting to keep my eyes awake.

Now I could be their mother…

😱😳😱

Walking to school.

20 odd years ago, the trees were shorter.

When it was raining, we would have to be vigilant while walking because if the cars drove near the side

SPLASH and we would get soaked.

I wonder if it's still the same now?

The chaos in the canteen.

It was dark and hot and loud but everyone was very excited.

There were even prefects cheering and people filming. (Nobody cheered along I think ha)

Another thing different – they no longer cheer in a manly voice! It's a lot of high pitched screaming in between the familiar cheers.

My friend said, "Must be the metoo movement we must reclaim back our womenhood. Be better than men not act like that."

Haha we're still the same nonsensical people.

The classroom block. Everything looks a little worn and worse for wear. I guess it's because they're moving so there's no incentive to repaint.

There was a "new" block of container classrooms though.

(I put new because it wasn't there 20 years ago, but it might be more than 10 years old 🤣)

Also "new" was the running track! No more running around the campus for 2.4 and getting lost.

We used to play volleyball and this was our corner.

The volleyballs were locked in this sad rusty once green ball cage. And worse….

Our volleyball court is GONE!

There used to be a basketball court, volleyball court and netball court placed side by side. Now all 3 are netball courts.

We were speculating that it was because we didn't deliver the medals hahaha!

But the bball girls were champions and went to nationals so that can't be it right.

There are still tennis and squash courts though! Tennis is such a rich kid sport..at least in Sg.

It was such a walk down nostalgia lane. Met a few other friends and it's nice we can all still recognize each other!

We were all exclaiming how each other's life seemed more exciting. I guess this is human nature, to always covert.

One friend is now a scientist at A star and she says she would rather have my "tai tai" life. And I suppose it is, because I don't post pictures of scrubbing laundry, walking under the hot sun to pick kids or ironing all the mountain of uniforms.

But I do admit, I have a good life. I don't have to worry about finances (for my basic needs), I get to stay at home and watch my children grow up, I have good health (generally) and I have a loving husband (most of the time).

So this is what I have to remember, when I see people having exciting careers, go out for dinners and dates and/or keep buying luxury items and just having the time of their lives.

Our lives are enough for us.

Uploading this so that the space feels less empty!

And cos I think it's very funny haha his chinese very CMI but he's always happily singing these songs that leave us scratching our heads.

The other 2 didn't sing as much and they preferred the English songs.
